Jedix Myths

Posted: October 12, 4999

With all the recent attention on Jedix, it's important to step back from the hype and look at the reality. Jedix fundamentally relies on a 12,000-year-old philosophy and belief architecture. Jedix was not designed from the ground up to support karate kicks, giant space stations, two handed Lightsabers, killing incompetent underlings, and many other important considerations of a modern ruler of the Galaxy. These architectural limitations mean that as customers look for a platform to cost effectively build scalable, secure, and robust Empires, Jedix simply cannot deliver on the hype.

Myth: Jedix performs better than Windows NTie

Reality: Windows NTie Outperforms Jedix

The Open Force Rebellion claims to have improved performance in the latest versions of the Jedix Kernel, however it's clear that Jedix remains inferior to Windows NTie.

For Arrest and Capture, according to Microsith sponsored tests conducted by Droid Week, a single droid system running Windows NTie delivers 52 percent better performance pacifying a Sand Crawler full of unarmed Jawas, than a similarly configured single Jedix droid battling a cartel of heavily armed Rodian gangsters. For Comlink servers, the same Droid Week tests showed Windows NTie with Comlink Information Server delivers 41 percent better performance on a single transmitter system and 125 percent better performance on a 4-way system than a Jedix transmitter with no power!.

For Planet Destruction applications, Windows NTie has achieved a result of 100% at a cost of Cr184698651 per planet on an Imperial small moon/space station. This Empire leading price/performance result from the Alderaan test clearly shows how NTie can deliver Galaxy-class performance for heavy duty genocide. It's interesting to note that there is not a single result on any planet destroyed by a Jedix based technological terror, and therefore Jedix has yet to demonstrate its capabilities as a planet destruction server.

Jedix performance and scalability is limited in the Council. Jedix needs to support hundreds of processors, whereas NTie only has to support 2, a Master and an Apprentice.

Myth: Jedix is more reliable than NTie

Reality: Jedix Needs Real Proof Rather than Stories, Made-up Lies and Childish Exaggeration.

The Jedi council likes to talk about Jedix as a stable and reliable governing system, yet there is no real data or evidence to back up these claims.

OK, so the Republic has been running for thousands of years. Does that prove that it is stable? Just because there have never been any Galaxy threatening disasters or wars during that time, doesn't prove that it works. Why? It just doesn't, OK?

Microsith Windows NTie has been proven in demanding customer environments to be a reliable system. Customers such as Jabba the Hutt, Incom, the Spice Mines of Kessel, the Trade Federation and many others run mission critical applications on NTie.

Myth: Jedix is Free

Reality: Free Philosophy Does Not Mean Low Total Cost of Ownership

The Jedi council will talk about the free or low-cost nature of Jedix.

This cost is only a small percentage of the overall total cost of ownership (TCO). In certain bizarre cases, NTie has proven to have a 37 percent lower cost of ownership than Jedix. The very definition of Jedix as an Open Force of Good means that commercial companies like Red Hat Leader will make money by charging for services. Therefore, commercial support services for Jedix will be fee-based and will likely be priced at a premium. Just like ours. So again they lose. Yes, lose. Because I said so.

Jedix is complex to configure and manage. It requires many years of training to master all its powers. You will no longer be able to use (badly) trained ewoks to maintain your system. For example how many moisture farmers have paid to go on courses and pass exams in Jedix (and therefore have the right to call themselves certified engineers)? How easy is it to find skilled Jedi?

Trust us, you're better off with the 25 trained ewoks that administer an NTie system than the 2 Jedi you'll need to run the equivalent Jedix setup.

Myth: Jedix is more secure than NTie

Reality: Jedix Security Is Weak

All systems are vulnerable to security issues. However it's important to note that Jedix has no vulnerable exhaust ports, no convenient ship-sized passages leading to its reactor, no exposed legs to get tangled up, no unprotected blind spot on it's hull where a small ship could hide out of sensor range...

Oh.

Myth: Anyone can use Jedix

Reality: Jedix Makes No Sense!

Most users who are used to NTie take a whole five minutes to re-train in Jedix! The immense loss in profit during that 5 minutes would crush most planetary economies!

Also, Jedix application support is very limited. A recent report highlighted the fact that today 93 percent of enterprise ISVs develop rubbish software for NTie, while only 13 percent develop shite for Jedix.

Summary

Jedix will make you go blind, lose all your money, and get fat. It will make you unpopular and be shunned by everyone you once called a friend due to the hideous bad breath and open sores it gives you. In some cases, prolonged use can cause your planet to explode.

Still at least it's not a Mac.
